Havens Joins the Class 2024

On December 12th, Cayleigh Havens committed to the Genesee Women's Soccer team for the 2024 season. Cayleigh is a 5'7" striker and outside midfielder who started 3 years for the Notre Dame High School Varsity girls' soccer team. She has 14 career goals, many of which were breakaways when she would take on the keeper, and 20 career assists. Havens received the Irish Award for Athletics at her school, is a Sectional Champion for soccer, from when she was a sophomore, and for softball when she was a junior. She was a captain on her soccer team this past season. Cayleigh also is a member of the National Honor Society and is on High Honor Roll. She plans to major in Business at GCC.

Cayleigh's mom is an alumnus of the school and played soccer for the Cougars as well. "It's always nice to get players whose parents had played here before and it just makes it feel more special," stated Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt. Cayleigh is also teammates with Nina, who committed the week before. "Having girls on the team who have played together before often helps with chemistry, especially if they are best friends before coming here. Cayleigh and Nina are strong additions to our incoming freshman class, and we're excited to see what they can do together," said Reyngoudt.

Jeff and Macy have been meeting with a lot of recruits and have some more commitments coming up. The Cougars ended their 2023 season with a 9-5-1 record. If you are interested in trying out for next year's 2024 Genesee Cougars, please email Jeff Reyngoudt at jcreyngoudt@genesee.edu
