Women’s Soccer earns a 7-0 victory over Tompkins-Cortland Community College

Batavia, New York- On a misty Sunday afternoon in Batavia, New York, the Cougars of Genesee Community took on the Panthers of Tompkins-Cortland Community College. The top-ranked Cougars would start scoring in the 16th minute of the match with an unassited goal from sophomore midfielder, Quinn McCue (Kent, New York). Genesee would go on to score four more goals over the next 20 minutes. The second goal came in the 22nd minute from sophomore defender, Maegan Rinker (Leroy, New York) and was assisted by freshman forward, Ruby Hoyt (Brockport, New York). Freshman, Abby Conover (Marion, New York), would then net her first goal of the season to put the Cougars up 3-0. The Panthers goalkeeper would make the initial save in the 30th minute but sophomore forward, Tatum Gagne (Holley, New York) scored anyway to make it 4-0. The final goal of the half came when Hoyt added her own goal on a helper from freshman defender, Tiana White (Sodus, New York).  

There would be two more goals added in the second half to round out the scoresheet. The first came from Grace Devine (Rochester, New York) on an assist from freshman midfielder, Savanna Scheifla (Alden, New York). The final Genesee goal came from freshman midfielder, Cydney Brandl (Akron, New York) to make final score of the contest 7-0.  

 

The #1 ranked Cougars will be back in action Wednesday, when they take a trip to Watertown, New York to battle the Cannoneers of Jefferson Community College, at 2pm
