Women's Soccer Heads to the NJCAA National Championships as the No.4 Seed

BATAVIA, NY... The Genesee Community College Women's Soccer team is headed back to the NJCAA National Championships. Genesee will make the trip to Herkimer College, the home site for the National Championship Tournament, as the No. 4-seed. The Cougars finished the regular season and the Region III playoffs with a combined record of 10-3-1.

Genesee went into the Region III Championship tournament as the 3-seed and earned wins over 6-seed Onondaga, 1-0, and against 2-seed SUNY Broome in the Region III North District B Championship, 2-1 to advance to the NJCAA National Championship. 

The Cougars were led offensively by Chloe Barrett (10 goals, 5 assists, 25 points) and Kelly Mickey (6 goals, 3 assists, 15 points). Kellie Brewer had another standout season for Genesee, allowing 15 goals through 14 games, including six shutout performances. 

Genesee will go head-to-head with 5-seed Ocean County College on November 9 at 1:30pm at Herkimer College in the NJCAA National Championship Quarterfinals.
