Fuller Scores Twice in Cougar's Win over North Country

GCC defeats North Country 5-1

SARANAC LAKE,NY... #4 Genesee Women's Soccer made the trip to North Country Community College and came home with a 5-1 victory over the #10 Saints.

North Country would get on the board first as Mikenna Valentine put one in the net for the Saints about 16 minutes into the contest. That would be the first and only goal for the Saints, as Genesee goalie Kellie Brewer would go on to finish the day with eight saves on nine shots. 

Kelsey Fuller was the first to score for Genesee, assisted by Bryn Luckey, to tie the game at 1-1. About eight minutes later, Kelly Mickey would give Genesee the lead off a pass from Chloe Barrett. Bryn Luckey would grow the Cougars' lead to 3-1 when she buried a pass from Mickey with about five minutes remaining in the first half. 

Ashley Bliss added her 12th goal of the year to give Genesee a 4-1, assisted by Chloe Barrett. The Cougars' final goal of the day would come from Fuller, her 14th goal of the year, assisted by Ayuka Toshimoto

The Cougars improve to 12-2 overall on the year and will head to Mohawk Valley Community College for another crucial matchup with the #3 Hawks on October 20 at 3:30pm.
