Women’s Soccer Team Records Second Shutout of Young Season

The Genesee Community College women's soccer team recorded a road shutout against Mohawk Valley Community College to remain undefeated in National Junior College Athletic Association D-III play.

Katline Cartwright scored two of the Cougars' three goals as one of seven players to find the scoresheet.

Cartwright added to her team-high seven goals and it was the second time this season she recorded a game winner with the game's first goal.

Molly Reyngoudt got Genesee's second goal, while Cartwright rounded out the scoring with the game's final tally.

Four Cougars registered assists that included Maddie Cummings, Leah Czechowski, Khiva Huxhold and Diante Scheepers. Scheepers is currently tied for the team lead in points with Cartwright at 17.

Jaclyn Guzdek recorded six saves for her third win of the season with two coming by shutout.

Genesee returns home for a Sept. 5 matchup against Corning Community College at 4 p.m.
