Genesee Swimming Adds Davis to 2021 Recruiting Class

Cooper Davis signs letter of intent to join GCC Swimming and Diving

Genesee Men's Swimming just signed their second recruit of the year, Cooper Davis, on June 3rd. Cooper is a 6-foot freestyle and long-distance swimmer from Alexander High School. His best 50-yard freestyle is .24 and his best time for the 100-yard freestyle is .57. He also has recorded a 2:02 for the 200-yard freestyle and a 5:37 for the 500-yard freestyle. Davis has been awarded Scholar Athlete for all 4 years of high school, in every sport he participated in, and is also in National Honor Society. Cooper also runs cross-country and track for his school, as well as played football. He is ranked 7th in his class overall and has been awarded Honorable Mention for Swimming during his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year. Cooper plans to major in Nursing while at GCC.

Cooper is joining the Genesee Cougar's at a perfect time. Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt's first year coaching the swim team was in fall of 2019 and he has already made tremendous strides with the team. He hopes to build a swim team around Cooper and the other incoming recruits and continue to be a force at Regionals and Nationals. "Cooper is our second male signee of the year and he is certainly not going to be the last. We are working hard to make sure he has a strong team to swim with", said Jeff.

Jeff and assistant coach, Macy Reyngoudt, are continuing to recruit for the 2021-2022 season. They have been speaking to many 2021 prospects and will be signing more swimmers in the upcoming months.
