Genesee Signs First 2021 Swimming Recruit

Jordan Stachowiak signs letter of intent to swim for GCC

Genesee Women's Swimming just signed their first recruit of the year, Jordan Stachowiak, on December 30th. Jordan is a mid-distance and distance swimmer. She has been swimming for the Attica Varsity Girls Team for 6 years and has swam for the Batavia YMCA for 8 years. Her best 500-yard freestyle time is a 5:55.92 and her fastest 200-yard free is a 2:13.85. She is captain of her high school team and has made it to States for the YMCA 6 out of the 8 years she has competed. Stachowiak has been awarded Genesee Region All-Stars for the last 5 years and has also appeared on Honor Roll. She also plays golf for her school and is a part of the "Best Buddies" Club, an organization with the sole purpose of inclusivity. Jordan plans to major in General Studies.

Jordan is the sister of Tyler Stachowiak, who swam for Jeff and assistant coach, Macy Reyngoudt, last year. Tyler was awarded MVP of the Men's Swimming Team for GCC and also did exceptionally well at Regionals and Nationals in 2020, as well as 2019 his freshmen year. "Tyler was an incredible swimmer and a great person to have on the team for our first year coaching. He taught us a lot and made us better coaches. Most of the events that he swam, Jordan will also swim for us. We're excited to have another Stachowiak and know she will exceed our expectations", said Head Coach Jeff.

Jeff and Macy are getting the ball rolling when it comes to recruiting for the 2021-2022 season. They have been working hard speaking to 2021 prospects and will be signing more swimmers in the coming months. They are excited about next year's incoming class and have high hopes for the team to exceed people's expectations. The Cougars season is scheduled to swim this spring.
