BATAVIA, NY… The nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Onondaga Community College in the NJCAA Region III Division III Pool A Championship Sunday afternoon.  

Matheus Spina scored the lone goal for Genesee off a cross from Mark McCann. Kyle McLeish earned the shutout for the Cougars.  

The victory propelled Genesee to the NJCAA Region III Division III Men's Soccer Championships to be played at Herkimer Community College.  

Kyle McLeish, Nathan Gilhooly, and Mark McCann were named to the All-Tournament Team while Matheus Spina was named the tournament's MVP. Onondaga's Oleksandr Perets and Caio Hughes were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
