BATAVIA, NY… #2 Genesee Men's Soccer shutout SUNY Broome, 3-0, for their 9th win of the season.
The Cougars broke the 0-0 tie early as Romaine Watkis scored his 7th of the season off a pass from Matheus Spina to give Genesee a 1-0 lead. With about ten minutes remaining in the first half, Sebastiao Nolasco would add another goal for Genesee, his 4th of the season. Genesee would ride this 2-0 lead into the half.
A little over seven minutes into the second half, Matheus Spina added another goal for Genesee, his 11th of the season, assisted by Watkis. The Cougars would hold this 3-0 for the remainder of the match, earning their 9th win of the season, improving to 9-0-1.
Augusto Rivero Fernandez played all ninety shutout minutes in goal for Genesee, stopping the only shot he faced.
The Cougars are back in action on October 9 when they host Fulton-Montgomery.
