Williams Nets Three Goals for Genesee in Win Over FLCC

GCC defeats FLCC 11-0

BATAVIA, NY… Genesee Men's Soccer, ranked sixth nationally in the latest NJCAA DIII Men's Soccer rankings, traveled to Finger Lakes Community College and added another win to their season total, beating FLCC on the road, 5-1.

The Lakers were the firs to break the nothing-nothing tie, with a goal from Russell Domm, assisted by Chuck Domm, almost six minutes into the match. Genesee would not go quietly, however, as Morgan Williams would score his first two goals of the night before the first half ended, with assists coming from Joe Waters and Matheus Spina, respectively. The Cougars would take a 2-1 lead into the half.

About thirteen minutes into the second half, Williams would chip in his third goal of the night to finish off his hat trick, with Lucas Fenton being credited for the assist. Genesee's lead would grow to 4-1 as Nathan Gilhooly would add another score for the Cougars off an assist from Spina, his second assist of the contest. The Cougars final goal of the evening came from Nabeel Rehman, assisted by Fenton, to give Genesee a 5-1 lead, a lead that Genesee would ride out until the final horn.

Morgan Williams finished the night with three goals on seven shots on goal. Spina and Fenton would both finish with two assists a piece.

Kyle McLeish played all ninety minutes for the Cougars, making one save and allowing one goal on the two shots he faced.

Genesee is back on the pitch on September 30th when they travel to Erie to take on the Katz. Cougars vs. Katz is scheduled for a 5pm kickoff.
