Men's Lacrosse Set for National Championship Run

GCC Lacrosse is headed to the NJCAA Final Four

BATAVIA, NY... The Genesee Men's Lacrosse program is ready to take another run at a NJCAA National Championship. The Cougars, ranked third overall in the NJCAA national rankings, added another dominat win to their resume with a shutout victory over #6 Sussex County, 24-0. This win punched Genesee's ticket to the NJCAA Semi-Finals in Garden City, NY on May 15th. The Cougars will go head-to-head with #2 Harford, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA National Championship on May 16th.

There has been no shortage of offense from Genesee this season, as they have tallied 127 goals in just seven games. Leading the way for the Cougars, sophomore Baden Boyenko has netted 25 goals and added another 12 assists. Freshman Spencer Nyhart has buried 18 goals, while fellow freshman Jordan Boyenko has added another 17 goals for Genesee.

Freshamn Goalie Jared Evenden has helped keep the Cougars in the win column, as he heads into championship weekend with a 5-1 record, with 52 saves on his season record. The Cougar's only loss on the year was to #1 Nassau on April 23rd in Colonie, NY. 

#3 Genesee is set to faceoff with #2 Harford at 3:30pm on Saturday, May 15, in Garden City, NY.
