Batavia, NY – The Genesee Community College Cougars Men's Basketball team is heading to the regional tournament as the #2 seed. They will host the #7 seed Corning Community College on Wednesday, February 22nd at 5 PM.

With their win over Jefferson to end the regular season, the Cougars finished the season with an overall record of 21-7 and 18-4 in the region. Genesee also claimed the Western New York Athletic Conference regular season title, going a perfect 13-0 in the conference.  

The Cougars faced the Red Barons twice during the regular season, winning both contests. On December 7th, Genesee visited Corning, winning 83-67 behind sophomores Pape Tunkara and Jamond Jones 35 combined points. On January 21st, Genesee would host the Red Barons, taking the contest 63-54. Freshman Richard Martelly would put up a double-double during that game, contributing 25 points and 14 rebounds to the win.

The winner of Wednesday's game will head to the Regional Semifinals. Those will be hosted at the highest remaining seed of the tournament on Saturday, with the regional final at the same location on Sunday.
