Generals knocked off in double OT

Batavia NY- The #3 Ranked Herkimer Generals traveled to Genesee CC to face the second straight top 10 ranked team in 5 days. Genesee jumped ahead 1-0 in the 40th minute and 10 minutes later, the Generals tied it up when sophomore Mitchell Bourdeau (Swanton, Vermont) added his first goal of the season on Ali Somow's (Utica, NY) 9th assist of the year.

The game stayed knotted through the end of regulation and through the first overtime until Genesee Midfielder Marc Mcmann hit the game winner in the second OT at the 102 minute mark. Sophomore Keeper Manabu Takahashi shined again for the Generals with 10 saves on the day.

The loss brings the Generals to 5-1 on the season, and moves them to #3 in the national polls. The Generals are back in action tomorrow (10/6) when they travel to Watertown, NY to take on Jefferson CC Cannoneers for a 4 PM start.
