Sophomore Erina Ishiguro was named Female Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb 2-Feb 8, 2020. The Yokohama, Japan native had am impressive performance of Wednesday, Feb 5, as she recorded 21 points, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Her efforts would help Genesee go on to win the conference contest over Jamestown Community College.
Sophomore Swimmer Carlitos Sanchez was named Male Athlete of the Week. The Albion, New York native added another new school record to his already impressive season. Sanchez set the new Genesee record of 48.17 in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle. This is the third new record that Sanchez has set this year, including two new school records in the 50 Yard Freestyle. The time he posted on Feb 5th was .02 faster than the previous record set in 2012.
Women's Basketball hosts Mercyhurst North East on Wednesday, Feb 12 at 5:30pm and travel to Erie Community College for a match-up with the Katz on Saturday, Feb 15 at 1pm.
The Swimming & Diving program finished their regular season on Wednesday, and will start preparing for the Region/District Tournament at Monroe Community College on February 15th and 16th.
