The Genesee Women’s Soccer Team played their first preseason scrimmage last Friday, the 16th, as they traveled to Toronto, Ontario to compete against Centennial College. It was a hard fought match and showed our Coaches what they needed to work on for the upcoming season. The game was celebrated with pizza and an exchange of t-shirts from both teams. Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt had stated that this was a great bonding experience for the girls and he is looking forward to doing it again next year as well. The team also had a team-bonding outing and some down time while north of the border as they spent the day at Canada's Wonderland.

After returning from Toronto, our ladies team was back to business. They’re second and final preseason scrimmage was this past Wednesday, the 21st, against Roberts Wesleyan College. In a short amount of time, the girls had improved tremendously and our Women’s Soccer coaching staff was over the moon. With just a few practices left before their first home-opener, the Lady Cougars are ready for the challenge.

Genesee Women’s Soccer Team opens their season tomorrow evening on our turf field at 5pm against Clinton Community College. They also play on Sunday at 1pm against North Country Community College. Sunday’s game is being played in memory of Andie Mae Carpenter, who suddenly passed away this past January. Andie was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and our Women’s Team will be warming up in Red T-shirts to show awareness. Please come out and show your support!
