Katline Cartwright

The National Junior College Athletic Association named Katline Cartwright as its National D-III Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Cartwright logged  a dozen points last week between a pair of 7-0 road wins that helped move the Cougars up to No. 7 in this week's NJCAA D-III Women's Soccer's National Poll.

Her totals from last week also helped her maintain a top-10 standing in D-III national statistics in goals and points. To date, she ranks fourth in the nation in goals with 14 and seventh in points with 34.

The Cougars began the week with a 7-0 win at Niagara County Community College and Cartwright scored three goals, while her lone assist came on the game-winner, Sept. 12.

Just two days later, Sept. 14, the Cougars traveled to Erie, Pa. where Cartwright had a pair of goals to go with an assist in another 7-0 win.

In addition to her national recognition as women's soccer player of the week, Cartwright was also named the NJCAA Region-III Female Athlete of the Week as well.

The GCC women's soccer team is currently at 7-1 and undefeated against other Division-III teams with the lone loss against a Division-I opponent.
