No. 4 Women’s Soccer Team Moves to 7-0 with 7-0 Win

The Genesee Community College women's soccer team hosted Cayuga Community College Sept. 20 and improved their record to a perfect 7-0 on the season with a 7-0 win with their third-consecutive shutout and fifth on the season.

Genesee attempted 38 shots with 24 finding the net. The Cougars also attempted 11 corner kicks to Cayuga's one. Jaclyn Guzdek and Rachel Meyer split time in net and shared the shutout.

Katline Cartwright led the way with the official game-winning goal and a pair on the afternoon and a team-high five shots on goal. Equaling Cartwight's point total was Allison Becker, who finished the night with a goal and two assists. Sara Zakes was in on the most goals with three helpers.

The Cougars recorded four goals in the first and three goals in the second. Both Cartwright goals came in the first about 20 minutes apart. Becker also scored in the first as did Jenna Lewis.

In the second, the Cougars got goals from Julie Kommer, Karli Phillips and Leah Czechowski, respectively. Also finding the scoresheet was Allison Duhow with an assist to round out the scoring.
