Genesee Increases Win Streak to Seven

Carly Repka scored less than two minutes into No. 5 nationally-ranked GCC's contest against visiting Jefferson CC on Saturday afternoon, and the Cougars improved to 8-1 on the season after a 2-0 shutout win.

Repka's goal was her first of the fall and came just 1:40 into the first half of the game off of an assist by Gabriella Garcea.

Genesee produced its sixth shutout win of the season, limiting JCC to just three shots on goal. GCC goalkeeper Katlynne Tubo made all three stops.

The game remained 1-0 until the 76th minute when Kelsey Scott-Avery gave Genesee an insurance goal, connecting on a pass from Sarah Williams to put GCC in front by two. The goal was Scott-Avery's second of the season.

Both teams went scoreless for the final 14 minutes of the game and Genesee increased its winning streak to eight games in a row.

Genesee will return to action on Sept. 29 on the road at Erie CC for a 3 p.m. game time.
