After back-to-back losses on the road, the Genesee Community College women's soccer team returns home on Wednesday night to host Corning Community College beginning at 6 p.m.
Genesee (1-2) has dropped its last two contests in overtime after a season-opening win on Aug. 28. The Cougars went 0-1-1 in overtime games last year.
Corning (0-2) lost its first two games of the year at home and will play the first of three consecutive road contests on Wednesday night.
Last time out:
GCC lost on the road at Mohawk Valley Community College 2-1 in overtime. Kaileigh DiSalvo gave Genesee a 1-0 lead in the first half with her first goal of the season, but MVCC tied the game and eventually won in extra time.
CCC lost 6-0 to Hudson Valley Community College at home on Sep. 6. Kristen Emmert and Taylor White combined to make 18 saves in goal for Corning, allowing six goals on 24 shots. The Red Barons offense managed just six shots on goal.
What to watch for:
Genesee is 9-0-1 against Corning since 2004.
The Cougars lost back-to-back games one time during the 2013 season.
A win on Wednesday night would make it nine straight wins at home for GCC.
Start time is set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday night at the turf field at GCC. For updates and results, follow Genesee Athletics on Twitter: @GCCSports
