Genesee Sweeps North Country

BATAVIA, NY… For the second consecutive day, the Genesee Community College women's lacrosse team defeated the North Country Community College Saints. Game two of the weekend did not need overtime, as the Cougars won 13-6 Sunday afternoon.

The Cougars got on the board early with a pair of goals from Rachel Ladd. The Mexico native was assisted on both goals from Lancaster's Hannah Kirisits. After North Country cut the lead in half, Bri Heers would score to give Genesee their two goal advantage back. Rachel Ladd would complete the hat trick on a short-handed goal. North Country would add a goal to give Genesee a 4-2 advantage heading into the locker room.

The second half saw Genesee continue to score as Ladd would add her fourth of the game. Heers would score her second of four goals on the day. Then Kirisits would score four goals to put the game away. Ashley Barclay continued her point streak with a goal. Ryley O'Mara made nine saves in net for Genesee.

Genesee (4-2) hosts Harford Community College Friday afternoon at 2pm.
