Cougars Drop Conference Game to Tribunes

ROCHESTER, NY… The Genesee Community College women's basketball team dropped to the reigning NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Champion Monroe Community College Tribunes 77-57 on Saturday afternoon.  The loss puts the Cougars' record to 16-9 on the season and 4-4 in conference play.

Erina Ishiguro led the Cougars in scoring with 12 points coming off the Genesee bench. TaLia Burgess scored 11 points. Molly Buck added 10 points. Grace McComb scored nine points and collected a team-high seven rebounds.

The Cougars was able to cut the Tribunes lead from 20 to 10 in the third quarter, outscoring the home team 21-11, but Monroe was able to put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Cougars 26-16 to earn the victory.

Genesee is back in action on Wednesday evening as they host the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks at 5:30 pm. The game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
