The Cougars shot the ball well from every avenue of the field that included 92 percent from the free-throw line from 12-of-13, 50 percent from the floor going 32-for-64, and 30 percent from beyond the arc sinking 7-of-23, of which five came from Burgess.

Four other Cougars recorded double-digit performances that included LisBeth Pineda Polanco with 15, Tylasia Weaver with 10 and Erina Ishiquro with 11 from the bench. Weaver also had a pair of steals in the victory.

Grace McComb rounded out Genesee scorers with eight while adding a team-high six assists.

The women's basketball team will look to improve upon its 2-1 record next weekend when they participate in the Niagara County Community College Tipoff Tournament beginning with a contest against the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.
