Genesee Cruises Past Mercyhurst North East

The GCC women's basketball team cruised past visiting Mercyhurst North East on Saturday, dropping the Saints 92-30 to improve to 3-5 in Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) play.

Norvonee Hall led the way for Genesee, which saw five scorers reach double figures, with 18 points and 20 rebounds.
The Cougars held Mercyhurst to single digit scoring in each of the first three quarters and prevented the Saints from recording a field goal for over 13 minutes from midway through the second quarter into the third period.
Brionna Blocker dished out a game high 10 assists and also had 14 points, her second straight double-double. Kiyomi Nakakoji scored a game high 19 points and was five of nine from three-point range.

GCC led start to finish and shot better than 53-percent in the game, also hitting 10 of 22 three-point shots.

Lauren Watson added 16 points and five assists, Rosalyn Sealey finished with 14 points, six boards and six assists, Kelsey Scott-Avery chipped in seven points and three rebounds and Tabria Howell grabbed seven boards and scored four points.
Genesee (12-16) will host Finger Lakes CC in its regular season home finale on Tuesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
