Hall Sets a Pair of School Records in Win Over Sheridan

Norvonee Hall set a pair of single game GCC records on Tuesday afternoon, helping the women's basketball team to a semester-ending win over visiting Sheridan College (Canada), 76-45.

Hall secured her ninth double-double of the season, and in the process set the single game record for most rebounds with 33 and most defensive rebounds with 16.

Sheridan built a 16-13 lead after the first quarter, but the Cougars came back and outscored the Bruins by eight in the second quarter and did not trail the rest of the game.

Hall also scored a team high-tying 21 points in the game and converted 11 of 12 free-throws.

GCC started the second half scoring 11 of the first 15 points to stretch its lead to 12, and held a lead as large as 31 in the second half.

Brionna Blocker also recorded a double-double for the Cougars, scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 boards.

As a team, Genesee grabbed a season high 62 rebounds and finished plus-12 in that category.

Rosalyn Sealey put together a 21 point seven rebound effort, Lauren Watson hit two of GCC's four 3pt baskets in the game and added 15 points, and Pamela Crespo dished out a game high five assists.

The win bumps GCC up to 5-7 overall this season. Genesee will return to action in the New Year on Jan. 6 at Villa Maria College.
