The GCC men's and women's swimming and diving teams each swam to a 2-1 record on Wednesday night in a home quad meet against visiting Monroe CC, Jamestown CC, and Erie CC.
Matthew Langerman captured Genesee's first individual win on the men's side, pacing the 1650 free with a finishing time of 18:47.36, winning me more than 22-seconds. Joan Ferrer followed with the first of his two individual wins on the night in the 50 free, winning with a finishing time of 23.43. He later topped the 500 free with an end time of 5:14.85 and Kyle Podlaski swam to a first place finish in the 100 backstroke, edging out a .75-second win with a final mark of 59.14.
Angel Priest came within .49-seconds of winning an individual race on the women's, finishing second in the 100 back (1:07.65). Miranda Dunton swam to a pair of runner up finishes, coming in second in the 500 free (5:54.59) and the 200 free (2:15.26). The pair teamed up with MiKenna Carpenter and Lindsay Harloff and won the 400 free relay, swimming the race in 4:10.45.
Thomas Slenker scored the highest mark in the men's diving for GCC with 225.45 points, and Denzel Flowers earned 155.89 points to finish third.
