BUFFALO, NY… The Genesee Community College softball team had a seven-run first inning lead and went on to the victory Tuesday afternoon in the NJCAA Region III-A Sub-Regional contest at Erie Community College.  

With the 7-3 victory over the Kats, the Cougars advance to the NJCAA Region III Final Four this coming weekend at Corning Community College.

Taylor Stefaniak had a 2 RBI double and scored a run. Jaclyn Guzdek had a 2 RBI single and later scored. Erin Cappotelli also had an RBI and scored a run. Kennedy Lampart, Sam Tatarski, Anna Kabel, Bella Prest all scored. Emily Kams pitched a complete game, giving up seven hits and striking out seven Erie batters.
