SANBORN, NY – The Genesee Community College softball team earned a split against the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves Tuesday afternoon. Genesee lost the first game 9-3 and bounced back in the second game, winning 10-0. The split with the Thunderwolves gives the Cougars the season series against their conference opponent, winning two out of three contests.

Taylor Stefaniak had a big day at the plate for the Cougars, hitting a home run in the second game. Brittany Cole pitched well in the first game, but recorded the loss. Emily Kams pitched a complete game two-hitter in the nightcap. The first game saw Genesee being unable to capitalize while having runners on base.

The Cougars stand at 10-14 on the season and 4-5 in Western New York Athletic Conference play, and 9-5 in NJCAA Region III competition.  Genesee is home on Thursday as they welcome the Herkimer College Generals to town. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
