MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Genesee Community College softball team earned a 6-5 win on Sunday over Prairie State Community College to earn their first victory of the season.

Two hits by Taylor Stefaniak and Kennedy Lampart led the Cougars offense and the key inning was the fourth, when Genesee scored five runs to take the lead for good. Sam Tatarski pitched a complete game, striking out five and gave up seven hits to record the win.

Genesee is back on the field Monday against Joliet Junior College in Myrtle Beach.
