BATAVIA, NY… In a match up against a pair of top ten teams in the country, the #5 Genesee Community College men's soccer team earned a 5-0 victory over the #10 Cayuga Community College Spartans Wednesday evening.

Genesee would break the scoreless tie early in the second half with goals from Hiago Barros de Souza, Ed Port, and Shahin Tahir Nasabi less than 90 seconds apart. Robert Keogh would add a deflection goal and James Lighton would finish the scoring for the Cougars midway through the second half.

Adrian Bergman recorded the shutout for the Cougars.

Genesee (5-2) will be back in action on Tuesday, September 24 at Tompkins Cortland CC.
