BATAVIA, NY…  The Genesee Community College men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks 2-1 Saturday afternoon in double overtime.

Genesee got on the board early as Vitor Chriguer de Goes Vieiera scored with the assist from Hiago Barros de Souza. Mohawk Valley would get the equalizer before halftime to go into the locker room tied 1-1.

With no scoring in the second half, overtime was needed to decide the game. After the first overtime, a second overtime period was needed. Mohawk Valley would get the game-winner early on in the second overtime period.  

The Cougars travel to Corning Community College to play the Red Barrons on Wednesday, September 4. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
