Genesee Defeats Clinton in Season Opener

BATAVIA, NY… The Genesee Community College men's soccer team defeated the Clinton Community College Cougars on Saturday afternoon 10-1.

Genesee got on the board early with a Vitor Chriguer de Goes Vieiera tally less than seven minutes in. The Blue and Gold added four more goals; including a pair from Ed Port, Hiago Barros de Souza, and Ollie Ardle before the end of the opening half.

Barros de Souza would get his second of the match early in the second half to increase the Cougars lead and then would complete the hat trick just minutes later. Jose Manoel Cavalini would score two goals as well for Genesee.

Adrian Bergman, and  Marcus Kenline split time in net for Genesee to record the victory.

Genesee will take on North Country CC Sunday afternoon at 3pm in the Andie Carpenter Memorial Cup.
