The No. 3 Genesee Community College men's soccer team dropped its contest to visiting University of Maine Fort Kent 2-0 Oct. 12.
The teams played the final 75 minutes scoreless with both teams battling for scoring opportunities. The Bengals scored a pair of goals about one minute apart in the game's first 15 minutes that proved to be the difference.
The University of Maine Fort Kent out-shot Genesee 15-6, but the Cougars were much better in the second half when the shots were 6-5.
Rodrigo Albuquerque, Sam Hall and Philip Melo had a pair of shots each to lead the Cougars, while Adrian Bergman and Matthies Meyer split the game in goal for Genesee with a combined seven saves.
The Cougars travel to Adirondack for its next contest Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
