Men's Soccer - Goalie missing penalty shot

The Genesee Community College men's soccer team increased its winning streak to six games with an 8-0 win over visiting Hudson Valley Community College Sept. 24.

Charlie Livesey led the Cougars with six points after a pair of goals and a pair of helpers on the day. Joining Livesey with two-goal performances were Jack Sharman-Dodd and Billy Murphy, with the latter getting one of his goals off a penalty kick.

Ryan Price added a goal and two assists in the win, while Glenn Holmes registered the game winner in the 13th minute from a Livesey corner kick.

Current National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Soccer D-III Goalie of the Week David Ormiston split the shutout win with Gaurav Cheema, and it was the team's fifth this season.

The Vikings lost a 3-2 heartbreaker the previous day to Erie Community College, who happen to be the Cougars' next opponent. Genesee will host Erie Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. The Kats received votes in the current national poll and are currently riding a win streak of their own at seven games.
