The No. 4 nationally-ranked Cougars cruised past visiting Corning CC on Wednesday afternoon, scoring four times in each half en-route to an 8-0 victory.

Genesee wasted little time and took the lead in the 12^th minute when Rafael Godoi scored unassisted to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

William Stone netted two goals in the game, scoring in the 29^th minute off an assist from Victor Obetta-Chinenye and again in the 41^st minute unassisted. Sofiane Hamadi also added a first half goal in the 35^th minute, and GCC led 4-0 at the break.

The Cougars continued to roll in the second half with four more goals, including a second from Hamadi (50^th) and Godoi (54^th).

GCC goalkeeper David Ormiston was untested for most of the game, but kept the Red Barons off the board in the 27^th minute with a diving save off of a free kick just outside the box. The freshman earned his second shutout in as many games.

Glenn Holmes added a goal off of a header in the 59^th minute before John Reed rounded out the scoring in the 60^th minute off of an assist from Hamadi.

Genesee improves to 2-0-1 on the season and will return to action at home on Saturday against Tompkins-Cortland CC. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
