Cougars Drop Road Game at Howard

COLUMBIA, MD. – A strong opening quarter had the Genesee men's lacrosse team in the lead, but the Cougars were unable to keep the lead as the host Howard Community College Dragons would win their NJCAA Lacrosse contest 12-6 Saturday afternoon.  

The Cougars (3-4) enjoyed a 3-1 lead after the first quarter with a pair of goals from Kyle Isaacs within the first three minutes of the game, and from Samuel Koczwara. Austin Palmer would score early in the second quarter with a Jason Chiodo assist to have the Cougars enjoy a 4-1 lead. Zach Wade scored for a three-goal Cougars lead halfway through the second quarter, then the host Dragons would score the next three to tie the game at 5 at intermission.

Howard would score the next six goals to go up 11-5 at the end of the third quarter. Austin Palmer would score his second of the game five minutes in the fourth quarter but that would be all that the Cougars could muster. Lincoln Potter made 18 saves between the pipes for Genesee.

Genesee is back in action on Saturday morning as they travel to Finger Lakes Community College. Opening faceoff from Canandaigua is scheduled for 11 am.
