Cougars Drop to Region Foe Onondaga

BATAVIA, NY… The no.6 ranked Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team dropped their NJCAA Region 3 contest to the no.3 Onondaga Community College Lazers 17-5 Saturday afternoon.

Evan Printup got the offense going for Genesee on a feed from Jason Chiodo to cut the Lazers lead in half after Onondaga opened the game with the first two goals. Onondaga added a pair of goals late in the quarter for a 4-1 lead after the first quarter. The reigning National Champion Lazers would score five straight goals and enjoyed a 9-1 lead at halftime.

Kyle Issacs scored five minutes into the third quarter to cut into Onondaga's lead. Jason Chiodo scored a man up goal with the assist to Zach Wade at the end of the period. Henry Reber scored 47 seconds into the 4th quarter with an assist from Jake Smeader. Smeader would score the Cougars' fifth goal with the assist from Jason Chiodo with four minutes remaining.

The Cougars (2-3) will be home next Saturday, March 30th as Mohawk Valley CC comes to Batavia for an NJCAA Region III contest. Opening face-off is scheduled for 3pm.
