No. 3 Men’s Lacrosse Team Moves to 8-2

The No. 3 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team moved to 8-2 on the season with a 31-0 win over visiting Finger Lakes Community College April 13.

The Cougars out-shot the Lakers 72-3 with 41 Genesee shots finding the net, but Genesee's best statistic came at the faceoff circle by winning 97 percent of the draws. The Cougars also held the groundball edge at 57-7.

Statistical team leaders for the game were Jason Chiodo in goals with five and shots with 10, Jordan Brennan in points with 10 and assists with six, Andrew Forte in groundballs with 19 and Brad Hejmanowski in faceoffs by going a perfect 18-for-18 from the circle.

After Chiodo's five goals, three players added four goals apiece that included Michael Trimper, Alex Mack and Brennan.

In all the Cougars compile 56 points with the following point breakdown: Brennan (10), Chiodo (8), Mack (6), Trimper (4), Kevin McParlene (4), Josh Bernas (3), Samuel Koczwara (3), Joshua Shields (3), Forte (3), Zach Wade (3), Henry Reber (2), Ian Dolac (1), Mat Anderson (1), Robert Middlebrook (1), Evan Hollfelder (1) and Tyler Thompson (1).

Genesee takes to the road next against Tompkins-Cortland Community College with a 4 p.m. start.
