Genesee Splits at Niagara Tip Off Classic

SANBORN, NY…The Genesee Community College men's basketball team split their two games over the weekend at the Niagara County Community College Tip Off Classic. They defeated Allegany College of Maryland 84-73 and lost to Cuyahoga Community College 64-63 to move to 4-1 on the season.

Brandon Speller led the way for Genesee in Saturday's victory over Allegany College of Maryland. The sophomore scored 18 points for the blue and gold and collecting 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Selassie (Tyler) Bourne scored 13 points off the bench. Jalen Willis scored 12 points and dished out eight assists. Dylan Magloire had 10 rebounds.

On Sunday, Genesee dropped a heartbreaker 64-63 to Cuyahoga Community College. Selassie (Tyler) Bourne scored a game-high 25 points for the Cougars. Jalen Willis scored 12 points. Isaiah Clemons had seven steals.

Genesee (4-1) returns to action on Friday, November 15 at home against Lakeland Community College at 7pm. The game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
