Genesee Gets Second Straight Conference Win

NORTH EAST, PA… The Genesee men's basketball team earned their second consecutive Western New York Athletic Conference victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, by defeating the Mercyhurst Northeast Saints 67-62. The victory puts the Cougars' record to 11-8 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.

Kevin Major led the scoring for Genesee with 14 points. Jamir Cheek also scored 14 points and collected 5 rebounds. Brandon Speller scored nine points and 11 rebounds. Jarett Haines scored 12 points for the Cougars to get the victory on the road.

Genesee returns home on Monday, February 4, as they welcome the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.
