Men's Basketball Drops Two on the Road

NEW YORK, NY… The Genesee men's basketball team battled the Monroe College Mustangs and the ASA Institute Avengers on the road this past weekend but returned home without a victory.

Friday night against the Monroe College Mustangs, the Cougars had a hard-fought game but came up short in an 86-59 loss in New Rochelle. The Cougars were led by Jarett Haines with 15 points and eight rebounds. Souleymane Gueye scored 12 points and added eight rebounds. Jamir Cheek scored 11 points, collected seven rebounds and added six assists.  

Saturday afternoon, the Cougars were led by Jarett Haines who scored a game-high 30 points, while shooting 11-17 from the field in a 78-66 loss to the ASA Avengers. Jamir Cheek recorded a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and handed out five assists.  

Genesee (9-6) is back in action on Tuesday, January 15 as the Cougars travel to Herkimer College, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 pm. The next home game is on Saturday, January 26 against Monroe CC.
