The Genesee Community College men's basketball team made it two-in-a-row with an 81-70 win over Erie Community College Nov. 8 at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo.

Genesee held the lead almost the entire game until the Kats rallied midway through the second to take a brief four-point lead at 53-49, but the Cougars went on a 22-6 run after that to restore the 12-point lead Genesee built in the first half when a pair of Caylen Williams free throws made it 27-15.

Three Cougars ended up being both the team's top three scorers and also their top-three rebounders.

Brian Fobbs led the way with 26 points, followed by Rahmel Thompson's 21 and Jaheem Page's 12. The trio combined for 30 rebounds with Fobbs notching a double-double with his team-leading 13 boards, while Thompson just missed a double-double of his own with nine rebounds; Page registered eight.

Jarett Haines led all scorers off the bench with five points, but perhaps more important were his team-high four steals.

The game may have been decided at the free-throw line with Genesee getting a dozen more charity-stripe points with a 72 percent shooting percentage to Erie's 50 percent.

The Cougars return home for a pair of games beginning this Saturday, Nov. 11 when they host visiting Cuyahoga Community College at 3 p.m.
