The Genesee Community College men's basketball team completed its first weekend of play with a convincing 92-59 win over Broome Community College at Corning's Crossover Tournament.

The Cougars can attribute the win to a great first half where they out-scored the Hornets by 31 with a 52-21 lead at the break. Genesee was able to out-score Broome in the second half as well, but only by two.

Genesee had three double-digit scoring players in the win that included Brian Fobbs, Jaheem Page and Caylen Williams.

The trio accounted for more than half of the Cougars' points with Fobbs leading the way with 21, while Page added 17 and Williams 15. Nine of Williams' 15 came from outside the arc.

Both Fobbs and Page ended the contest with double-doubles with Fobbs grabbing 15 boards and Page getting 11.

Rahmel Thompson added nine points, while Jordan Smart and Brandon Peters each added a half-dozen points, with the latter registering a team-high six assists.

Savon Williams led all Cougars in scoring from the bench with six points.

Genesee travels next to Erie for a 7:30 p.m. contest Nov. 8 .
