Adam Baumeister and Alec Engel competed for the individual title at the NJCAA Division III National Golf Tournament this past weekend at the Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, New York. Baumeister and Alec Engel were part of the 87-player field and finished 23rd and 50th respectively.
The tournament, cut short by one round due to rain on Thursday, concluded on Friday after 54 holes with the leading scorer at even par (216) after three rounds.
Baumeister finished the tournament +16 (232) and shot his low round of 75 on day two. He began the week with a first-round 80 and concluded with a 77. The freshman ends his first season at GCC as an All-Region and All-Conference selection and was the individual medalist at the GCC Invite on May 4th.
Engel shot +25 (241). He opened the week with a first-round 84 and followed with an 80 on day two. He finished strong with a final round 77. Engel, also a freshman, was named to the All-Conference Second Team this season.
