SYRACUSE, NY – The Genesee Community College baseball team ended their five-game win streak in game one against the Onondaga Community College Lazers Thursday afternoon, dropping a heartbreaker 4-3, but quickly rebounded and earned the split, taking the nightcap 6-2. Genesee improves their record to 26-15 on the season.

Eliel Martinez Viera hit a homerun in his second straight game. Pitchers Ryan Voss and Tyler Prosperso pitched well for Genesee. Voss threw a complete game to earn the victory. The first game of the afternoon saw Genesee take the lead in the third inning, but a three-run fifth inning gave the Lazers back the lead. The Cougars scored one run in the top of the seventh and were unable to tie the game.  Game two saw the Cougars take the lead in the top of the fourth inning and added two runs each in the sixth and seventh to score the win.

Genesee returns to action on Saturday as they play at Sal Maglie Stadium against the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves. First pitch from Niagara Falls, NY will be at 1pm.
