BINGHAMTON, NY – The Genesee Community College baseball team are on a five-game winning streak after sweeping the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets Wednesday afternoon. Genesee improves their record to 25-14 on the season.

Game one saw the Cougars score twice in the fourth inning to open the scoring, then brought six across the plate in the top of the sixth to put the game away. Briann Castillo had three hits to power the Cougars offense. John Faynor, Elizam DeJesus, Rodolfo Rodriguez, Deion Rosalia, Jordi Agosto, and Gabriel Diaz each had two hits. Bryant Fontanez had a hit. Colin Noeth pitched a complete game, only giving up six hits in the shutout.

The nightcap saw the Cougars continue to hit the ball well. Rodolfo Rodriguez and Bryant Fontanez each had three RBI's. Jordi Agosto had two RBI's. The Cougars scored 13 runs on 17 hits. Jason Faynor threw a complete game five hitter while striking out four Hornets batters.

Genesee returns to action on Thursday as they travel to Syracuse to take on Onondaga Community College, a team that Genesee defeated just two days ago. First pitch from Central New York is scheduled for 2pm.
