The Genesee Community College men's baseball team's impressive run came to end with a pair of doubleheaders against Erie and Niagara. Prior to the pair of doubleheaders the Cougars had put together a run of 14 wins in 18 games at the region level and vaulted to second place in Region-III West standings.

After the doubleheaders Genesee fell from second to fifth and just out of post-season play.

Of the last four games, the Cougars probably had their best chance in the first of the four against Erie. The Cougars built a 4-1 lead before Erie rallied and ended the game with just a pair of hits more than Genesee, who had seven.

Deion Rosalia led the way with a pair of hits and L'Shandry Kirindongo brought in two of the Cougar runs.

In the second Erie game, Jakob MacLeod allowed five earned runs and had four strikeouts in suffering a 9-2 loss from the mound. Only one Cougar had more than one hit as Nate Darwin stroked a pair of doubles.

Against No. 3 Niagara County Community College, the Cougars rallied to tie the game at 2-2 through three innings but couldn't add any more. Both Shannon Folkes and Rosalia had a pair of hits each with the latter plating a double and homerun that included a pair of RBI.

The second game against Niagara featured another Rosalia homerun that cut the Thunderwolves' lead in half at 2-1 more than midway through the game. Genesee was unable to build off the second homerun by Rosalia in the two games and nationally-ranked Niagara went on to take the contest.
