Warwick, R.I. – December 10, 2018: The CCRI Lady Knights Basketball team continued play in the 2018 Genesee Cougar Holiday Classic Sunday morning by facing the undefeated (13-0) Thunderwolves of Niagara County Community College. The Lady Knights lost to the Thunderwolves 76-50. With the loss CCRI falls to 3-7 on the season while Niagara improves to 14-0.

Facing an undefeated opponent is always a daunting task but the Lady Knights were ready for the challenge against the formidable Thunderwolves. CCRI traded baskets with Niagara for the first quarter with the Thunderwolves garnering a narrow 15-16 lead after one quarter. CCRI was led in the first by Olivia Batastini-Pallister (Providence, RI) who scored six points on two 3-pointers while getting four points apiece from Co-Captains Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) and Waleska Kelly (Pawtucket, RI).

The CCRI offense fell flat in the second quarter as they could only muster eight total points while Niagara kept on pace with 16 to extend their lead to nine points with the score 32-23 at halftime. In the third quarter it got worse for CCRI only scoring five making one basket and a few free throws which allowed Niagara to extend their lead to 30 points 58-28. The Lady Knights did outscore Niagara 22-18 in the final quarter but the game was already in hand for the Thunderwolves who went on to win 76-50 and improve to 14-0 on the season.

Leading the way for CCRI was Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) charting another double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds while dishing out six assists and swiping four steals. Littlejohn has had an excellent first semester with six double-doubles and one triple-double stat lines in just 10 games.
