Thunderwolves swept at JCC pod

Niagara County Community College played several close sets, but ultimately dropped a trio of Region III pod matches at Jamestown Community College this past weekend. The Thunderwolves fell to 2-8 on the year and return to the court at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a conference road match at JCC.

Monroe CC 3, Niagara CCC 0

NCCC sophomore Kaitlin Hoadley had 20 assists, seven digs and two service aces, but the Tribunes won in three games. The scores were: 25-21, 25-21 and 25-16. Also for the T-Wolves, sophomore Jocelyn Swierski had four kills, nine digs and three aces, classmate Alexia Bleuer put down seven kills and sophomore Gianna Smalley added five kills.

Genesee CC 3, Niagara CCC 0

Smalley ripped seven kills, but the Cougars earned the sweep by the scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-23. N-Trip sophomore Marissa Dusza finished with five kills and four aces, Hoadley had 19 assists and Swierski chipped in with 10 digs.

Finger Lakes CC 3, Niagara CCC 0

Sophomore Noor Kadhum had four kills and Bleuer notched four service aces, but the nationally-recognized Lakers were too much. The scores were 25-18, 25-12 and 25-20. Hoadley had 16 assists and Swierski added 13 digs in the loss.
