Herkimer, NY – The #2 nationally ranked Herkimer men's soccer team moved to 9-0-0 by beating #3 Genesee 2-0.  The Generals opened up the scoring in the 11th minute off a goal from sophomore Kyle Middleton (Dundee, Scotland).  Sophomore Ali Somow (Utica, NY) served a great ball in for Herkimer's first corner kick of the game for Middleton's first time finish.  Sophomore Yamato Fujishima (Saitama City, Japan) scored in the 19th minute on a first time finish from Somow.  Somow took on three defenders and served the ball far post to Fujishima for the one time finish.

Freshman goalkeeper Cathal Carney (Springfield, Massachusetts) recorded five saves in ninety minutes of play.  Herkimer will host North Country CC on Saturday at 12:00pm at Wehrum Stadium.
