CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team faced the visiting #1 Genesee Community College Cougars at the FLCC Multi-use Turf Facility Saturday afternoon. The #1 Cougars would prove their might, shutting out the Lakers in a 7-0 win.
Freshman goalkeeper Emily Neuenschwander (Hamilton, N.Y./ Hamilton) stood out amongst her teammates, finishing with a game-high 22 saves. Sophomore Georgia Luft (Elba, N.Y./ Elba) had an impressive performance, finishing with the Lakers' lone shot on goal in the second half of the match against a strong Cougars defense.
The team will return to play next Wednesday, September 20th for a match with the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks on the road at 6:30 PM.
